Hi all.. Well I had my bypass in January and I moved to another state. How do i go about finding another doctor to follow up with. Peace and Blessings..

I think the first thing I'd do is ask my old doc if they had anyone in the new area they would suggest... if that does not work, then start digging and see whos available, whos good, and give em a call! Maybe if you have a new primary, they could suggest someone as well.

Best of luck! I might be moving again next summer for grad school... If I do, it will be about a 3 hr drive. So I am thinking I might keep mine and just make the drive over 1 time per year... but not sure, cause if I ever need care for a WLS related 'thing' I'd want to know who to call local.... Hummm.....

My first search for a bariatric surgeon I looked on line because I had to go to a center of excellence. My bariatric center choices were both 3 hours away.

Then when it came to having to find a new one I asked around the closest ones are 70 miles away and I got very lucky my friend started the process and her doc just started accepting my secondary......so talk to current patients if you are in a small area people like to talk of their procedure I have found so ask.

I also did what becca suggested and had my PCP give me input.

Like the others said I'd ask my current doctor for a referal.
