I am scheduled for surgery 5-23-12! I am excited and scared at the same time. This has been a long time coming. I have re-scheduled appointments and done anything possible to prolong the process. I keep telling myself that it is worth it in the end but I am terrified!

Congrats on the surgery date. I was scars at first too but now that I am 5 weeks out I am so glad I did it.

Thanks you all! I am really excited! I look forward to sharing my experience with you guys. I have gotten so much encouragement through this group just by reading the posts. It is major surgery, and you would be unusual not to be scared. I was terrifed and, like you, tried to prolong the process to keep putting the date of surgery off.

Hopefully all will go well for you, and you will be on your way to losing the weight. I am so happy I did this and I would have it done again tomorrow if that would be necessary.

It will really suck right after surgery, but after a few weeks you will be losing weight and you will be glad you did it.

Don't be scared! the first week sucks yes but after that it is smooth sailing all the way down. Bittersweet! I would do it over and over again and I am not even close to goal!

I understand where you're coming from. I had my surgery last Wednesday. The night before, I had a moment where I stood in my kitchen and thought what the $#%^ am I doing to myself? Big time stress. I was thinking that i was going to cancel, but I kept reminding myself WHY I was doing this. So, as you get closer to your surgery you may feel this way. Keep your eye on the prize at the end - a smaller and healthier YOU.

Congrats on getting your surgery date! I know what you mean about being nervous or second guessing yourself. I have been doing the same thing since I got my surgery date a couple weeks ago. I think it is normal as it is a big major surgery and life changing decision!! I am excited but nervous at the same time but I am going through with having the surgery on June 11th. I want to be healthy and loose weight and keep it off this time for my health.
