well I had my last pre surgery appt with my surgeon today, he removed the fluid from my band, wow what a feeling, it was so weird thought I was having a heart attack, felt like someone had stuck a knife in the middle of my chest, he said it was just the fluid coming out, good news is that it settled down after a while, then went out for dinner for our anniversary, and I DID NOT VOMIT. ate too much and paid for it but didn't vomit, now that is something I could get used to. so 4 weeks Friday until my surgery can't wait

Thanks Lcat4 he also said he was not going to do a Rouxen Y but a different proceedure which I didn't quite catch the full name of, but I asked if that's what is known as the mini bypass and he said it was, he expects I should be able to come home the day after surgery which will save me a night in hospital and $1,100 which would be great as I am a casual at work and don't get any pay for being off work. so gets better every day, he also said 2 weeks off work which i was told 4 before by his staff, so another 2 weeks saved although i might split it and make it 3, although being off work now on stress leave I am bored stiff so maybe less would be better.
I do have a plan to read my Bible from start to finish in that time, so there is a challenge as well

So happy that you've been able to get through the "Processing". But Oh Rats... Was sorry to hear about your "near miss" on the bus. That must have really shook you up. I hope the next month of waiting passes quickly. Pre-surgery can sometimes be an anxious time. Keep working on your pre-surgery issues and know that there's always someone here to help you through every step of the way.

Hi all
processing is way more easier here in Australia, I only had an initial appt with surgeon, set a date, a visit with dietitian and one last visit with surgeon to empty fluid from band, 1 report from surgeon and 1 from GP to access my superannuation to pay for it, I think you guys in USA call it your 401k plan (retirement savings) it was approved in less than a week. even if I had private health insurance, you just book it all in and when you go to hospital they directly bill your insurance company you don't need any approval from them before you have it done. any essential medical treatment in hospital is free for everyone, of course WLS at this stage is considered elective but that might change I know in the UK some people get it paid for by the Government
