I returned to classes today and there are a lot of stairs involved. I am EXHAUSTED and I still have three classes left today (bummer). I keep reading about people who have bundles of energy; when does that start? Also, I washed my hair last night and so much came out i almost cried. I know it's a side effect and it's temporary but it's still upsetting!

HI i am 11 days post op and definitely feel very energetic already although i am still on liquids. All i am doing is drinking water all the time and also having proteins shakes + vitamin (chewable) and iron in liquid form . Are you taking any vitamins or proteins at all?
In addition to this i walk 1 hour on the treadmill a day.

I can honestly tell you that it took me at least 2 months for my energy to get back to anywhere near normal. I went back to work after 2 weeks, but came home and took a nap every day for at least a month afterward. It is completely normal, it takes time. Rest whenever you get the chance, and try not to push yourself too hard.

I'm 4 weeks post op and my first day back to work was yesterday. Then I had to come home and go back out for another 3 hours.

I can't even tell you how exhausted I was at the end of the day yesterday.

We'll get there!!!!

it took me about 6 weeks to really feel the energy back. I know the feeling all to well about the exhaustion that goes along with this surgery. Be good to yourself and give it time. You will wake up soon and feel like you can run a mile... :) Have you tried the sublingual Biotin? Its worked great for me. I take one 10,000mg biotin a day hoping that my locks will lock into place. but im prepared for the loss that is my destiny. Like you said though its only temporary.

Since you are still fresh out of surgery, it is no wonder you are tired since you are doing a lot of stairs and classes. It takes at least 6-8 weeks to really begin to feel normal for most people. You are young but you are still healing. Resting and taking it easy, getting your protein, water and vitamins in are crucial to your recovery. Overdoing it at this stage could set your healing and recovery time back. Please back off thinking you are super woman and take care of yourself!

Thanks, I really appreciate the feedback!!! Today is my longest day and I don't work, just school so I'll manage. I have a hard time with the protein but I've read several recommendations in our group for the Jay Robb unflavored protein at the Vitamin Shoppe so as soon as I can find one, I'm going to get it. It's forty bucks but if it's flavorless like everyone says it is than it is WELL worth it because as it stands I'm not getting nearly enough protein or fluids. :( I take multi-vitamins though. My first post-op appt is this Thursday and I'm not allowed to take the calcium or iron til after that. We shall see!!
