Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
You do have to eat, cause I found that if you don't, and don't get in enough protein, you won't lose.
You should be eating 3 meals a day, with a snack in between them. I don't always do this myself, but I do try.
Are you doing protein shakes, or protein bars? If you don't get enough protein in you will start losing your hair........that is what really jump started me on trying to eat more, plus I started doing 2 protein drinks a day, for 40 grams protein.
The fear of screwing up is a fear we all have......we just have to stay away from forbidden foods..........carbs, junk food, overeating, fast food.
Good Luck.

Hugs as always,

Greek yogurt! Extra thick! Zero fat (watch the labels). Super high in protein. Low in carbs. Filling and wonderful. Guilt free eating! Yum.
"I went through too much pain, and spent way too much money to have this surgery done and I don't want to screw it up. So I'm scared to eat anything. Do any of you feel this way? " I can almost "feel" your fear here, I think once you can get your mindset around this you'll be fine! Also if you don't eat like you should you will not lose weight as fast because our bodies tend to think we are starving them and then they rebel by "holding" on to the fats. I would talk to your nutritionalist about your not wanting to eat, they may have some proffessional advice for you! As always, we are here to help you and if you need us just post! Good luck
