Good article. I was diagnosed with NASH which led me to gastric bypass surgery even though a good friend of mine lost her life after the surgery.

I decided the only way I had a good chance of living long enough to see my grandchildren get graduate college, get married and make me a great grandmother then I had to lose the weight and Gastric Bypass was my last chance. It's working! My last Dr. appointment showed my enzyme levels in my liver are normal - YEAH =)

I was diagnosed with fatty liver disease beginning stages as well. It was one of the factors among so many other health issues that pushed me to finally have the surgery I had considered having for a decade. My liver enzymes are still a lil bit elevated but that could be due to many different reasons, doc is going to re-test them again soon.

Sometime you'll have to tell me about your friend, joy.... I remember you mentioning that before. Too sad!
