Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
Now, I can go almost anywhere and find something that I can eat and work into another meal or two at home.
The first fast food type item I had was Wendy's chili that I had my hubby pick up for me. It was so yummy and I was about 6 weeks out at that point.

Today we were doing alot of shopping and running around. Lunch time passed and my grandson and husband had pizza. I figured that I would have a Wendy's cod fillet. I took it off the bun and had two small bites of it.
OMG I thought I was dying!! I don't know if its because it was fried, or what the problem was but my pouch screamed at me, "WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE PUTTING IN ME?!?"
Needless to say, I won't be doing THAT again. I'm going to make sure I have some packets of protein shakes in my purse and I'll buy a bottle of water and have that instead. No more fast food for me.
BTW, I'm almost 6 weeks out.

I do not feel guilty about any wasted food. This way, I still get to have a little of what I want. If my hubby is there, he will finish what I can't.
I always opt for lean meat when going out or baked potatoe because mashed usually has butter and milk or cream in them. I like soup depending on the type it is. Just think about where you are in your recovery diet then order something that fits. I always have leftovers. I order water to have incase of choaking mainly but I never drink anything untill at least the 30 min after eating has come.
