Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
My job is not physical at all - its what might be called a desk job -computer and phone is all I need to get done what I need to.
I am 8 weeks out tomorrow. I definitely have more energy than I had just 2 weeks ago. Doctor said there would be an energy bump at around 6 weeks, and again at about 3 months. Maybe you haven't hit the first one yet ???
It does get better! Try to get in all protein and fluids!
WLS surgery is a real shock to the system, both the surgery and the dietary changes are huge hurdles for your body to get over, past and healed from. Do what you can to take care of yourself. Work smart, not hard, and whatever you do, get your liquids, proteins and rest in.
As your body acclimates, it will get better, much better when the weight comes off!
Take care and let us know how you're doing.
I've got to be honest, my energy didn't totally come back until the 4th month (although I felt a lot better than I did before GBS - and it was easier to move without carrying all the extra weight around). Personally, I wouldn't recommend adding Gatorade or anything like that. For me, artificial stuff messes with my taste buds and makes me crave more crap.
I don't have any actual advice for getting more energy...just encouragement to let you know it's totally worth it!!
