Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
Post often. Some one will reply. We are eager to hear of your successes!
Glad you've joined us. Good idea, practicing your skills beforehand. It will definitely help with the transition after your surgery.
Welcome!
Your tastes will probably change after surgery... a protein shake you like now may be too sweet for you later (I don't recommend stocking up).
You are way ahead of the game by practicing the no drinking thing. That was probably one of the most difficult adjustments for me.

I am 3 weeks & 5days out from RNY - BEST decision EVER!
Surgery date seems so far away, but will be here before you know it!
I originally started thinking about taking my journey in February and in March I started my supervised diet, which was only 3 months for me & couldn't WAIT to get a surgery date!
I did the same as you are with the no water 30 mins before and after meal, chewing food 30 times, smaller portions, putting fork/spoon down between meals and it had helped a great deal to get me ready & my head in the right frame for after surgery.
Good luck & keep us posted, you will find a LOT of useful information here & the people are NOTHING but FRIENDLY! :)
