Yesterday was the first emotional day I have had. I made dinner for my boys my favorite speghatti! It looked so good and I really wanted some. Then my husband made steak he's trying to avoid the carbs and I really wanted that. I'm stuck on this liquid diet and all I really want is some type of regular food! I miss eating with my family. I hate even going into the kitchen. Now I get to cook Christmas Dinner and am really not looking forward to it either. I know this will pass, my husband told me he was proud of me and that I am doing better then he expected but this truly is harder then I thought it was going to be. :(

That does pass. I\m 15 months out and now I can enjoy the smells of my favorite foods without feeling deprived. I can also really enjoy watching their enjoyment in my cooking even when it is something I can't even try. I have become obsessed with trying new recipes out on them, but they enjoy it and so do I so I guess it is an o.k. obsession to have.

Stay strong :-) I can't imagine. I only had to cook for my sis kids 2 days a week and that was hard enough. I tried cooking things I didn't like but of course they were begging for my favorite creamy Mac and cheese 0_o but there was a point I was able to actually be around people eating and be ok but it was REALY hard at first.

I am feeling exactly the same way! I am 6 days post op and on liquids. I have been out to dinner twice with my family and sipped on hot tea. I survived but it took all I had not to try a bite. We are in this together! 23 pounds is amazing!

thank you all for the support I am so glad that i found this site. We live in Germany so going out to eat is not that big of a deal for me unless we go to base and i meet my husband there for lunch or we go and the kids are hungry lol I do have to cook all the time though and i dont want to cook anything!! Today was easier i watched them all eat something from base as i sat there and thought of getting skinny lol I catch myself thinking about that often haha. We shall see taking this one day at a time here! Thank you all so much I truly do appreciate it!
