Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. But I don't really miss food anymore. There are too many good things in my life now. Since nothing tastes good to me anymore, eating is very much a chore.
Just my and my nuts opinion, but I didnt get this operation to diet yet again. I am also losing just a tad to fast for my team.... so it doesnt affect wt loss.

I'll probably feel grief just as I would if I lost a loved one, close friend, or pet. I'll probably grieve over losing the thing that comforted me when nothing else could. I'm sure I'll go through all the stages of grief...maybe more than once.
This support group is one tool to deal with the grief. This is where we can find folks who say "it's the same for me" and folks who offer suggestions.
So, I can easily imagine the boredom and, maybe, sadness that come with learing to view food as fuel only. It's not the same celebration or consolation that it was pre-op.
We'll need to put effort in finding comfort in other places...people or activities. We'll need to work to find satisfaction from other sources. And, while we're working through the emotions that come from grieving , we'll need to get used to the idea of food as fuel.
Food addiction is so hard because unlike things like alcohol that you can stay away from, food will always be a part of our lives.
I am feeling weak, and just plane lazy. UGH.............
I can imagine how eating will become like a chore but I can fill that time and energy I used to spend on food on something better!
God Bless !!!!
