Well I went to Sally's Beauty Supply and had a long talk with a gal who was pretty up on her stuff as far as coloring thin hair. I told her how I had been losing like enough hair to form a pea sized ball every time I wash it.
She suggested to use "Salon Care" Volume 10 developer (4 oz.) and any color of "Wella" brand "Color Charm" haircolor. I only used half of each, that way I had enough to color again when I needed to..my hair is long enough to touch my shoulders. She informed me it was the safest to use. I actually just got done doing my hair this morning for the 2nd time since I went to Sally's. I have had no problems with coloring my hair but after I color it I make sure to condition it well with good conditioner.
Whatever you do don't use any kind of haircolor with the powder stuff you have to mix up as that is too strong and will fry your hair (that's usually bleach for those really blonde- blondes!!!

(( I had my surgery last Oct at the age of 62. Just before hyatt surgery -- and twice since then. -- I have had them add semipermanent PURPLE highlights.
Bless her heart I get tons of compliments on my highlights so she's definitely doing something right.
I was also wondering about hair dye because I haven't had to have mine done March.
One added plus - my hair dresser also had gastric bypass - so she knows the drill.
