Cutting Wood

I began this fall's wood cutting this week. I find I am not as strong as I was at 341 pounds! Sure can bend and pick up better though! Kinda sore. You would think the gym would toughen a guy up but not so! LOL! Lotsa good exercise. Then I get to run up and down the basement stairs burning it this winter. I figure I handle each piece of wood 8 times by the time we use it! I'd like to try running for exercise too when I lose a little more.

That's great exercise! You may not be as strong physically but your stronger mentally and your ticker can prob handle a lot more than it could at 341!

Wow....ever since my back injury, I have not bent over and with this excessive weight, I definitely can't bend! I am looking forward to that day again which I figured was long gone and a thing of the past!! Once again, it can be a reality and WILL be a reality in my future!! Thank you for sharing experiences to help with motivation I look for!! :)

I am not a guy, and I am kind of tiny now, but I too am definately no where as strong as I used to be.... Thought it was just me.. Even holding my motorcycle up now is challenging...

And I do agree it is much easier to bend over and pick things up... Congrats on recognizing these things...

We are doing the same thing and I loved that picking it up and loading in the back of the truck was soooo much better than last year! I don't think I am going to mind having a wood stove this year.

That's awesome Sarge! We use wood for heat too, lots of exercise for sure. I remember as a kid, my dad figured it was such good exercise that he would have me move ricks of wood just because. I remember hating that, but today I look at it as a challenge. As I started this journey last February, I stacked about 4 cord in two days. (Only because I had to wait for the hubby to split it). This was also when I was 80lbs heavier than I am now. I have a feeling it would be a little easier now than it was 8 months ago.
