Sorry to say my chocolate cravings never went away, but there are good ways to indulge and not such good ways.....
Take a look at some of the low carb chocolate goodies on this Facebook page:

Obviously, chocolate isn't going to replace protein as our main food requirements, but if you look for low carb, low fat ways to enjoy chocolate, life can be very good as well as healthy!!
Take care!
also my programs well both i have been with teach moderation and ballance not deprivation........ I keep a small bag of chocolate kisses or the Hershey miniatures in the freezer........not cupboard not fridge in the freezer. The nutritionist says ONE a night even will not hurt ....so i i get that hankering i pull one out and suck on it takes care of it for me clearly im missing something in my diet but i don't know what. Im 4 years out the only weight gain ive had was due to medication which is now going away since being off the medication. guess the nut is right for me anyway.
dark chocolate Dr oz said once is better then a glass of wine at night which we cant have wine so there ya go. I keep mine in the freezer because it helps me in the moderation area..........my body does not do well with binging either so.

Side note: I have found that when I am craving sugar that it really means that I _need_ protein.
If something sweet as a treat just looks tasty that is totally different. It is the off-the-hook-give-me-sugar-or-die cravings that mean I _need_ protein and _now_.
:)
Chocolate contains phenylethylamine (PEA) which is in the drug ecstasy. It mimics feelings of love, alters mood, and can be like an antidepressant. The question is, are you feeling loved, cherished, and understood? Are you happy? Unhappy? Is something missing in your life? Do you have unfulfilled desires? What are you craving emotionally that triggers the chocolate craving? Are you craving love, intimacy, or romance? Are you treating yourself with love? Are you taking time for yourself? Are you meeting your own needs?
As I write this I am acutely aware of my own cravings for sweetness in my life. Hence the reason I am taking the next few days off for myself. If you are interested and this resonates at some level, check out Constant Craving, What Your Food Cravings Mean and How to Overcome Them by Doreen Virtue.
Awareness is everything!
