I mostly ate proteins for the first 8 months. I was able to eat so little at one time, that I didn't have room for much besides the protein if I was going to meet my protein goals. I still don't eat a lot of veggies (I'm 20 months PO). But I do occasionally have a small salad. I'll typically buy a ready made meal salad at the local grocery and then divide it into four or five servings when I get home. That allows me to have a little lettuce, spinach, a slice of cucumber, a grape tomato..... You get the picture. If I were to try to make my own, I'd end up throwing out so much food because I can eat so little!

However, I didn't try to add many veggies until I was at about 7 months PO. If you want to try something now, maybe some well chewed baby carrots????

I started with veggies now and then about 8-10 weeks out. I worked into them slowly and at first I seemed to do better with them cooked or steamed. At about 4-5 months out it got a lot easier and I started to enjoy small salads. Hang in there and keep trying them. You're still very early in your journey.

I am 9 weeks post op and still have not been allowed to graduate to veggies, I know that each persons plan is different. I love salad and miss eating it so I look forward to that meat does not agree with my pouch and I am lactose intollerant so selections are very limited. I'm 7 weeks out and have been eating veggies for about 3 weeks now. I haven't had anything that doesn't agree with me yet. I have to measure everything in 1 ounce medicine cups (shot glass) and I'm supposed to have 1 1/2 to 2 ounces of food per meal. 1+ ounce has to be protein and the rest can be fruits, veggies, beans, or cheese. As you can see, that doesn't leave much room for many fruits, veggies, beans or cheese. LOL It's a couple of pieces of lettuce cut up and maybe a few cubes of a tomato.

I am not a fish eater but, I do eat alot of shrimp mainly with cocktail sauce. At 2 mos I ate mostly protein because as others have said I was very limited in the quantity of food I could consume and had to consetrate on getting in the protein first which did not leave any "room" for veg or fruit. I would however bake a sweet potato once a week and eat a couple of spoonfuls everyday or so to get in some fiber and at approx 6 wks was able to eat a little salad. d

At 2 months I was doing a lot of meatballs in different sauces and lots of crockpot recipes. I really like "a year of slow cooking" it's a blog with crock recipes.

I got the veg as part of whatever sauce cooked down in the crockpot. It took me a long while to get to a side of veg on its own.
