What is the BEST way to get your protein in, when you only get 600 calories a day?

Especially early on, the only foods I got in were protein based, meats, eggs, beans, cheese, lentils, etc.
I also had to drink milk in between meals for a while until I was able to eat enough protein..... didn't like the taste anymore after the surgery, but it's loaded with protein.

I've a bit of a strange one - I'm vegetarian so always looking for high protein low calorie snacks. One of the best I've found is grilled seaweed. Grilled being the important part because you can get loads of fried versions. Local Chinese markets tend to sell packs, my preferred brand is TaoKaeNoi super crisp grilled seaweed classic flavour. 8g of protein per pack with just 80 kcal. Good for crisp cravings too.

But that's for when you can eat solids again. Just after surgery I bought a tub of milk powder and added a scoop to all the liquids. Milky soups are not always pleasant but more protein that way.

In the beginning after surgery my program has you drink protien shakes between meals...and have you start to ween off of them as you can tolerate more food...I am 3 months post op and once in a while I need to drink one but not very often now
