Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
I had NO simple carbs, (crackers, toast etc), until a month or so ago. I've had a few animal crackers, I've had a few croutons I've made myself, and it seems I need to back off of those, even in small amounts as I have. I've also found increasing exercise and watching fat (which is low for me usually anyhow). All of this to say you'll probably have to fine tune at some point.

Just a word about reduction mode. It is a technique we use in maintenance when we gain weight outside out comfort zone. My basics: protein bar for breakfast, 1 1/2 hours later lots of fluid to fill the area the pouch empties into and induce a feeling a fullness. Lunch-Greek yogurt and 2-3 protein balls. Again, as much fluid as I can handle after 1/2 hrs. Supper-a dense protein and healthy veg. Very low carbs, and step up exercise.
In this mode I can lose 4-5 lbs in 3-4 days. I don't reccomend it unless you are at least 6 mos. out.

But what are protein balls?
Protein Balls:
Melt 1 cup peanut butter in microwave. Add generous amount of Hershey's Sugar Free Syrup.
Stir in 1 cup of vanilla protein powder (or you can use chocolate and not use the syrup-but they're not as chewy)
Stir in 1 cup quick oats.
You can add Splenda at this point to taste. (I do not, the syrup is sweet enough)
Mix, then form into balls. (24-30 balls). I flatten mine and they taste a lot like no-bake cookies.
