Well... remember me being all excited over doing a practicum at the bariatric center? Well, no go... Program director said after grad school. **SIGH***
I will keep looking... and find something that will work out.

They are defanaitly loosing out ! I personally think it sucks when a place is not open to our educating professionals. I sometimes wonder if they are afraid the student will show up the teacher lol. In your case I bet you would too!!! :)

What's a practicum? is that like internship, or apprentice?

Keep looking, you have so much to offer, where ever you end up, they'll be getting as much as they're giving.

I am sorry my friend... It is their loss.... You are probably more educated on this surgery than half the people that work there...

Keep up the faith... Something will come along, and whomever snags you up will end up with the prize....

rbd74, yeah, a practicum is similar to an internship... biggest difference is an internship is often full time. Practicum much less hours.

I am cool with it... I knew still being an undergrad my chances were slim :) But I'll find another place, or just do more time at SASS (the sexual assault survivors support place I volunteer)

Something better will come along! Though you would have been uniquely suited to this one. I know at my employer we (in HR) scrutinize internship requests carefully to stay out of trouble.

I found my site through Psychology Today. Although the school offers sites they have relationships with, I wanted one that fit me better and I found the perfect one :) I don't know the requirements there, but they have to complete a supervision certification here in Texas to be able to provide you with supervision.
