I just wanted to share with you all that I met a new goal this week. I have been stuck at a plateau for months but this week I finally broke the 300 lb mark! I now weigh 297 and I NEVER want to see 300 lbs again! Before surgery I weighed 440+ lbs. I don't know my actual weight b/c my Dr's scale tops out at 440, and it took me a few months to get down low enough to weigh myself. I have not been in the 200's since shortly after high school. (maybe even in high school, since I never weighed myself). My surgery was in Jan 2010, so I'm down about 143 lbs in 15 months (I started losing before the surgery). Before I could barely walk out to my car now I'm doing 3 laps around the local park (3/4 of a mile). This is the closest I've been to being able to do normal things for well over 20 years. Those of you who think you cannot do this, take heart. I know everyone says "if I can do it you can too", but I am someone who was really stuck. I tried EVERYTHING and now finally I am making progress. I wish I'd had this surgery years ago. If you are thinking about surgery, do the research and if you think it's for you, get started. Don't waste any more time.
