Hi all,

My Cuisinart blender broke last week after over twenty years of use. I can't find anyone who will fix it, so now I have to spring for a new blender. I REALLY miss my protein shakes!!!

Any thoughts as to which one I should get?

I've had a magic bullet for years and I can even buy replacement cups. Love it for my protein coffee every morning! I also love my vitamixer for bigger jobs like my protein smoothies.

I love my Magic Bullet because it's so quick and easy to use--and clean. NutriNinja also has a similar product now. ;)

I have the nutra ninja and just love it! I have a smoothie every morning and I can even put ice or frozen fruit in it, plus it works great for making soups, making my own salsas ect...best investment I have ever made! I got mine at kohls when it was on sale and with the 30% discount in fall of 2014 have never had an issue or needed any replacements.

I know it's pricy, but I love my Vitamix. Worth every penny.

I did get a Vitamix for Christmas but it doesn't work for single-serving protein shakes. It does a beautiful job pureeing an entire pot of soup, though!

I broke down and bought a Kitchenaid Diamond series blender. Works great, but it's all plastic. I miss the all-metal and glass construction of my Cuisinart.

Doesn't work for single-serving protein shakes? That is strange - I use mine to make my protein shake every morning...

I put water in it to just above the blades, then add 2 scoops of protein powder (I try to get 30 grams in as early as possible) and mix for a second on low. Then, I fill a plastic cup with ice, add the ice, and blend until it is creamy. It does fill more than one cup, but I put the "excess" in the freezer while I finish the first glass. I've tried using larger cups, but everything melts before I can finish it.

I did get a smaller container to make my shakes, but only because I wanted use the larger ones for stuff like spicy soups (which I didn't want to taste in my protein shake)!

Ah, that's the issue. I don't have the smaller container. I know now they make them, though, so I may just have to go and get one.

The reason I said it didn't work for protein shakes is that I like my shakes thick and frothy. The Vitamix wasn't doing that for me but the blender was. Go figure!

Lcat4, what is protein coffee? I love coffee its my downfall, empty calories I am sure.

to answer the question, I love the Bullet, I even use it to make baby food for my 7 month old :) good luck sweetie! I had RNY Aug 29th 2012 have had 3 pregnancies since, 2 babies! I am starting over on the liquid diet again :)
