Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
Remember that WHAT you eat is almost as important as HOW MUCH you eat. Protein first. Are you getting a generous serving of protein at each meal?
Carbs--avoid the simple kind such as white rice, white bread, white pasta, etc. and replace them with complex carbs--whole grains, legumes, etc.
Watch your sweets. Avoid sugar.
Fluids--get in at least 64 ounces of calorie-free beverages every day. No sodas.
Keep a food diary (I use loseit.com's smartphone app). It keeps me honest and give me an objective record so that I can figure out what is working and what isn't.
Give all these things I try and see how it goes. I'm in your corner. I wish you all success (and congrats on the little one again).
Congrats on the little treasure!
Which 5 day are you talking about? The pouch test?
Thanks
Cath
