OUCH... Nothing can be worse then what we went through... My Stiches are still in.. I get woozy each time I look down and look at them all.. IM A WIMP!! LOL

I just got back from the doctor, he took out my drain tube and 23 staples. My surgery was 5/19/09. He said they were starting to get infected. My doctor takes extra precaucions like Dial soap 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after.

wow yall had outside stitches? mine where under my skin and disove. i hated when they pulled my drain that hurt sooooooo bad. im glade u are doing fine now

Yuk, you poor thing. Sounds gross. I had gotten badly infected in a different surgery some years ago and the infection itself hurt.

Today I had my in dwelling or groshong catheter removed from my G.B. 4 weeks ago, and in addition to this involving cutting stitches, they had to pull the whole apparatus out my main neck and chest artery! Totally blechh, and I was scared S'less beforehand, but I must say, it was far less awful than I thought and I am the world's biggest weenie and needle phobic.

Huh, I had stitches that dissolved, nothing on the outside. I didn't have any type of drain either. I am feeling pretty lucky right now. I am sure the infected will clear up quickly since they found them so fast.

Hi, and sorry about your infected stiches, hope they clear up quickly. I had Laproscopic surgery and they used staples to close the 6 incisions.
One of the incisions started to infect, but going to the dr immediately, he removed the staples that caused the infection and it cleared up right away. That happened just prior to having them removed. All went well and I am fine, no other problems. I am now almost 6 mos p/o and have lost approx. 80 lbs. Good luck.

I didn't have outside stitches, either. I was actually pretty surprised when I took the tape off and there was nothing there. I did have a friend though that had the inside stitches when she got her appendix taken out and they got infected somehow. Anyway, I hope it goes okay. It will probably not be as bad as you think. Most things aren't!!!:)

Oops...sorry about that! Funny how BIG things seem beforehand! Stitches are out and all went great...no pain!!! yea! I did not get back to the Dr right away, but put neosporin and bandade on them and they calmed down. Dr.s job was simple. Thanks again for your support!
