I have added unflavored protein powder to my yogurt many times. Needs to be stirred really well but it's good. I have also added the unflavored to no sugar added applesauce. I bought a bunch of chocolate puddings to eat after surgery and think it would mix well with that too but honestly never ate the pudding.
Good luck!!
I haven't tried adding protein powder to hot foods, but I add it to yoghurt all the time. I love the Dannon Light and Fit greek yoghurt. It already has 12 gms of protein so I add 1/2 a scoop of protein powder(either plain or vanilla) to amp it up to 22 gms. It's really good!!
I'm heading on vacation for a couple of weeks, so wishing you all the best for your surgery!!!

that being said and living mostly on my shakes for two years here is what I discovered. If adding to hot things like coffee or soup anything really you need to treat pro powder like you would a corn starch. you do one scoop powder to two tbs cold (may be room temp its been awhile) water and mix to a paste then slowly add to the hot food mixing as you go. For my shakes I always add it to my milk and blend well then add the ice or I use yogurt cubes.
Good points made.... And heard! :)

I've also heard of people putting the unflavored protein powder in to things like applesauce, gravy, sugar free pudding, mashed potatoes....pretty anything thats liquidy! I would play around with it to get as much in as possible!!
Although it is commonly accepted (an repeated) that our bodies only absorb 30 grams of protein at a time, I have come across studies that indicate there is no difference in protein absorption of up to 70 grams (that's not a limit, just how high they tested) whether it is consumed all at once or broken up throughout the day. The studies were done on people who had not had GBS, so our milage may vary.
I haven't had good luck with the unflavored protein powders but I haven't tried very hard. Creamed soups aren't on my plan and I dumped on yogurt. I did try it in oatmeal when I hit my target weight, but I could never get the consistency right. Then I stopped eating yogurt.
