well if you could call it a bonus. as some of you know I am a bus driver, been doing it for 6 years now and still a casual, work 40 hours a week, enjoy the higher rate of pay, in Australia we get 25% penatly rates in lieu of holidays and sick leave. but on a negative that means apart from weekends, i haven't had a day off in 2 and a half years.

so yesterday I had a very near miss, pulled up just inches short of running an elderly lady over at a set of traffic lights, ( I didn't see her because she was in the blind spot created by the front pillar and side rear vision mirror)
(this issue has been reported to management numerous times, but because the mirrors are there where they are they can not be moved because it is the manufacturers specs for the bus and we have to get special permission to move them) anyway I was in shock at the near miss, I of course apologized to the passengers and all were good, except for one lady who then abused me for the next 20 minutes.

so long story short I am now on a weeks leave, went to my doctor and he has given me a certificate for the week, booked in to see counselor on Tuesday and doctor again on Friday to be cleared to go back to work, thankfully it will be covered by work cover and I will get paid, so it will be a good time to just relax, then I go back for 4 weeks then off for 4 weeks for surgery.
