Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. Here is my hospital's plan for the puree stage
Breakfast 1/4 - 1/2 cup food
Mid- morning Protein Shake
Lunch 1/4 - 1/2 cup food
Mid-afternoon Protein Shake
Dinner 1/4 - 1/2 cup food.
I have to aim for about 65 grams of protein a day, but I am most of the way there with the two shakes. The food I measure out but quit if I feel full. Cottage cheese, blended yoghurt, Refried beans, very tender chicken (I don't puree it, just chew till it's mush) fish, eggs, tuna, 98% fat free cream soups, etc. mashed potatoed, mashed banana, oatmeal, pureed veggies. Just eat the protein part of the meal first. I've also added laughing cow cheese wedges with no problem
Hope this helps.
