Hang in there. This hard time will pass. I have to be honest with you I threw up practically every time I ate for the first few months. I think it is because I was eating too fast. I had to learn to put the fork down and chew chew chew. Sometimes it would take me a hour to eat only a few bites. But the throwing up did end and the weight continued to come off. I think most of us go through a period questioning if we made the right decision. Once you get past this period and closer to some of your goals you will realize that the pain was definately worth the outcome. Nothing that has benefits comes without a struggle remember that.... There is a rainbow on the other side of this storm~~~

Hey scrappy, I'm not so sure the nausea thing is normal - I'm at 8 weeks and the only reason I'm nauseated now is due to the clarithromycin I wrote about earlier.

I definitely have up and down days but if you are not able to keep any food down, I'd contact your GBS team as soon as possible.

Is there any other reason you might be getting nauseated - like swallowing too fast or having too much at once? I definitely get nauseated if I eat too much or too quickly but if you don't think this is the reason then call the doc and let them know. I just don't think you should have this much UNEXPLAINED nausea at 8 weeks.

i'm with jerry on this too. Its not normal to be throwing up all the time at 8 weeks out. I was nauseaus in the first month, but after that was fine. Are you throwing up just food, or do you have problems with water too? It could be that you have a narrowing or stricture. I'd call your doc on monday to ask for advice. Because in my opinion, its not normal.

I was checked for a stricture and I don't have one. wonder if the antibiotic they put me on is making me nauseated? It's cipro, and it is hard to swallow. Oh-I'm taking it because I have a UTI.

I'm so sorry that all I do is complain to you guys. I just feel so low today. I love you all and I thank you for caring enough to offer ideas, etc.

I had a real hard time at 8 weeks out too I had the samething happen I had to go back in for my galblader on a friday they sent me home only to go back on monday and have it removed on tuesday. But I was up and down alot but it gets better as time go's by . Hang in there it will get better soon.

YES IT WILL. Your feelings are exactly what I thought too. I was thinking, "what the hell have I done?" I was nauseated all the time. I was tired. I was depressed. I was losing weight rapidly and didn't even care.
IT GETS BETTER SWEETIE. I promise. I always tell everyone who asks that this was the first part of the entire process for me. The best part is unlike a diet you can't change your mind. You will get through this and you will post about people not knowing you and old dudes thinking you are sexy and even strutting your new stuff. Hang in there. Keep posting and sharing your feeling and we will keep reminding you we have been there and done that. IT IS WORTH IT. Hugs and prayers for you.

I wish I had some advice to offer, but I don't. Just know that I'm thinking of you, and hoping things get much better soon.

Just to clarify I meant to say the first few weeks were the WORST part of the entire process for me. Oh how I wish we could edit our posts. Maybe DS will give us that power as a Christmas present. lol

Cipro makes me sick too Scrappy, maybe that is what it is. It is a very strong antibotic and tends to make people sick. You sure have had your share of yuckiness during this past 8 weeks! Wish there was something we could do to make it easier for you, but this too shall pass! Keep your chin up and know that we are here.

Are you taking any anti ulcer meds like prevacid or prilosec, once my surgeon put me on those I have not been nauseated once. I'm only like 3 1/2 weeks out but you must be eating something that is making you sick. Your stomach only gets truely nauseated from being overly acidic, so what's causing that?

Are you nauseated with plain water? If so as Jerry would say, check with your team! ASAP There is simply no reason to be sick at 8 weeks out. And for christ's sake get off the artificall sweetner, flavors and colorings. These things will kill you given enough time

I had an UTI and I was given liquid Bactrim for 3 days and it worked. Can you take sulfa? If so, ask if they can switch you to the liquid form.
