Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
Technically we don't have a pyloric valve (its in the bypass portion of the remnant stomach) at the base of our pouch so all liquids just flow on through. Protein powder tends to "beef-up" a drink but will never keep you as full as solid protein sources in the AM. They are a really convenient breakfast though... I grab for one when I'm on the run. Maybe switch to a heartier breakfast.
Plateaus/stalls can vary... my longest was 1 month. Try charting on fitday.com to get a B&W picture of what your #'s are looking like. I tend to think the body gets in a comfort zone and changing up exercise (using different muscle groups) for a week or so sometimes shakes things up a bit. Maybe doing something different for breakfast too. Some times we get in a rut and the body responds the same.
Best wishes,
