7 Weeks post op

I've had some ups and downs, but the best NSV so far is down 34lbs and finally can wear one size smaller pants! 



Hardest part...I feel everything. Other peoples struggles, my moms recent passing, fear of being single forever. EVerything is hitting me super hard.


Going to 2 support groups and seeing my therapist every other week. Feeling the feelings, but not spending too much time swimming around in them. You all told me this was coming so atleast it's not a surprise.



I want to fix my friends feelings since I can fix my own.



I know that this too shall pass. Thanks for all of your support.

Yea for you for shedding 34 lbs! Yeah having to feel our feelings rather than stuffing them is certainly a learning experience. Journaling and EFT have saved my sanity over and over!

well if I was in Yankee doodle town, you wouldn't be single for long. great when you see the clothing not being able to fit anymore. I have been wanting a pair of jeans for ages but haven't found any in the op-shops that I wanted, then last week I stumbled across an old pair of mine whilst going through my draws, thinking mmmm I should try them on they just might fit if I am lucky, well did they fit, the bloody things were loose, that goodness for belts hahahahahahahaha

Sorry to hear of your mother's passing. That's a lot to deal with on top of the physical shock leftover from major surgery.
I remember how everything I felt was super high or super low after my surgery, there was no middle ground. It helped me to keep in mind that we store hormones in our fat, so not only was I getting whatever my endocrine system was putting out, but getting an extra dose from the melting blubber. I was crazier than ever, but I knew why!
It sounds like you're doing great, losing so much weight, giving yourself the support you need to make the best of things. Smart, smart! Keep up the good work, and thanks so much for sharing.

Ratsack, you crack me up! Mnmama, is THAT why I've been so crazy lately?! My hormones have been stored in my fat? Yikes--as the fat disappears, the hormones have been released. Good God; that might explain why I feel like I've had PMS non-stop for the last seven months. My poor, poor husband! LOL GA, I'm sorry about your mom. I too lost my mom; it's been just over a year now. In fact, I remember having an app't with my bariatric surgeon at which we were going to set my surgery date. That appointment was June 8, he told me he wanted to operate on July 1, and I told him my mom had just died five days before and I needed time to mourn her before I could mourn the old me. It was an incredibly difficult time.

Good for you for having so much support lined up. I swear, sometimes those support systems are the only things that keep me going. Hang in there and keep up the good work!
