Hey everyone,
I'm still here; just super busy with work and family. I went to the Disneyland area last weekend to perform in a music festival with the high school choir I work with, and we were treated to a day at that park when we were done. What did I learn while there?
1--It really is possible to walk nearly 20,000 steps in a day, but boy--did my feet pay for it in the end.
2--Just because I lost a bunch of weight and can do a lot of things I couldn't for years, doesn't mean my motion sickness has magically disappeared. It seems I learned the hard way that I'm still unable to tolerate a roller coaster. I was sitting in the same coaster car as my boss, the choir's conductor, and he had the good graces not to laugh at me. Yikes!
3--It really is possible to eat nothing but healthy, nutritious foods at Disneyland. My favorite treat while there was a juicy, ripe fresh pineapple spear that I bought just outside the Tiki Room.
4--The park's restaurants have no problem at all with my ordering child-size portions.
So that's it. I'm down 69 lbs after 4-1/2 months. The weight loss has definitely slowed down so now the really hard part starts--having to work at it to keep it coming off. I relish that, though!

I've been in a stall for a couple of weeks that just broke. Stepped on the scale this morning and lost another four pounds for a grand total of 73. I am just shocked. I had to run errands today, and one of my stops was to a local Kmart to buy a new clock for my kitchen. While there, I noticed a skirt in the normal-size section that I'd had my eye on since before the surgery (I'm 4-1/2 months out from my RNY). It's white georgette with black roses and a black elastic waistband; very springy. I didn't buy it in December because I wasn't sure what size I'd be in the spring. Well, today I bought the last one they had. It was a size XL, and--believe it or not--it's loose on me! That red dress I bought for my February recital no longer fits, so this skirt, along with a black blouse I have and a pink sweater, will go very nicely for the spring recital my piano students are playing in two weeks. Clothes shopping hasn't been this fun since I was fresh out of college!
