Hello everyone! Hope you had very Happy Holidays! It has been a little while since I have checked in, and it has kind of been a whirlwind. So long story short. I am scheduled for laproscopic RNY and robotic Cholecystectomy (gallbladder removal) January 21st at 11 am. I start my liquid diet on January 7th, and that is also when I have my pre-op appointment. I found out that I do have to give myself Heparin injections in my stomach every day for 10 days. So I am in the home stretch. Looking for anyone who has had to give themselves the Heparin injections in the stomach and what their input is on possibly limiting bruising (although I honestly don't know if it's possible!) Maybe even anyone who has had their gallbladders out as well! I am also looking for any pointers from any of you lovelies who have already had your surgery and recovery. Any input would be very helpful! Thank you all!!
While i was in the hospital i told my nurse i was going to have to give myself the shots and that i was scared to do so. She was so nice, showing me exactly where to do it and how to do it with minimal bruising.
When i thought about it - 10 shots were so much worth the whole adventure and a small price to pay for good health!
