Hello all,
I am doing well. I am down to 159!!! A total loss of 51 pounds since surgery!!! It seems unbelievable to me. I have so much energy now! And most of my health issues are gone! The only concern that I have is that I can't get my post op blood work done since I lost my job 3 weeks after surgery and now I don't have any insurance. This totally sucks! So even though I feel okay, I don't really know if I'm healthy or not!' My advice to the newbies is DO IT!!! It is so worth it!! Take care everyone

Hi Cherierae, Sounds like you are doing great. Sorry to hear about your insurance, I dont know whats happening with obamacare but before that hospitals did charity care especially if you have been there before I would check on that the hospital that did your surgery might comp the charge.

You could look for health fairs also. They are usually free or very cheap!

this probably is stupid but what about planed parenthood? is that a clinic of sorts? I know it is birth control but hey get screened for that if it gets you blood work to boot. When I was young I had a few friends use their services and it was sliding scale or free? anyway along that line are there any clinics that would do sliding scale?

Routine blood work is very important. You can still feel good and not know that some of your nutrients need adjusting. (iron and vitamin B etc)
You should apply for public assistance or Obamacare. As soon as you have coverage, go get your blood work done. It's really important.

Can you afford to just get to most important ones done...like B12, iron, and a CBC? I agree...contact your doc and see if they can comp it...I also agree about Planned Parenthood...it is a way in and you could get your labs there for free or at a greatly reduced cost. Do you qualify for public assistance? I agree with others...check out Obama Care...you will probably qualify with a pretty low premium. Remember, labs are critical. You did this to get healthy...make sure that you remain that way.
