If you eat something that is mostly liquid, like watermelon, do you still need to wait the 1 hr before drinking?

That's a great question! I don't have an answer though! I would wait just to be safe.
Your dr. Makes you wait an hour after eating? Poor thing! That would make it all even more difficult!

I asked my nut about drinking water after having watery types of food, i.e., soup, protein shakes, etc. and she told me to treat them as regular food and wait 30 minutes after eating/drinking them before I drink any fluids.

Hi Pegmarie, Sorry to say I aggree with the others water pushes the food down making your pouch empty. Although I was also told 1/2 hour not an hour, hopefully that helps a little.

Yes, I wait to eat 30 minutes, after drinking any liquid, including protein shakes, or water, or soup without meat or veggies..etc..

It's just the way my Dr and NUT told me.

Thanks for the info. I have been craving watermelon but didn't want to get one and then do anything wrong in the timing. My Doc's office is drink and drink and drink, then stop 30 min before eating...then wait an hour and resume drinking. One or twice I have only waited 30 min after a meal, but then I get more bowel sounds and grumbling and then lots more gas later. At first it was hard to wait one hour, but I have gotten used to it, and I usually go for a stick of gum if I am to thirsty.

Yep, wait the 30 minutes. Also, be careful with watermelon...it is high in sugar and I've known a couple people who've stalled their weight loss going crazy on the stuff thinking it didn't matter how much they ate because it was fruit.
