Welcome to the group. Try not to worry to much, most of the testing is done to make sure your healthy enough for surgery. Occasionally they do find something but the bright side of that is that if you hadn't been tested you might not have known there was an issue. Also, most things that have been found can be easily fixed. The majority of people go through all the testing without issue so try to relax a little.

WELCOME!! I can tell you what you are feeling is NORMAL! Just finished off the 6 months of tests and nutrition visits.... I was always worried something would prevent surgery! But... hang tough, the time will fly by and before you know it your day will be here :)

I thought I was healthy, just overweight before my testing started. What a surprise to find out I had diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and fatty liver disease! The good thing was it confirmed the need for the surgery, and after surgery, they are all gone, except a very low dose of meds for the blood pressure. Better to find something and treat it early, than let it get out of control untreated. Congrats on you decision to pursue surgery, and welcome to the group.

I understand being nervous. I am usually pretty nervous about everything... However, like they said above if they do find something it is better that they find it now and can either treat it or tell you that the wls will help with the prognosis.

I am getting surgery on August 9th and it feels like everyday since I started I was sure it would never happen, that something would come up. I still feel that way!!

I haven't heard of anyone being denied because of a health problem. Let us know what happens!

Welcome! It's just routine, you'll do just fine. In fact, after I had my surgery and still in the hospital I had to have a CT scan because of a fever (precontionary measure) and the surgeon noticed a nodule on my Thyroid. So, after a ultra-sound, next week I get to have it Biopsied. Not something I'm looking forward to, but if it's malegnant I want to know now, not later.

You'll do just fine and you'll be ready for surgery in no time! =)

I guess I am the exception to the rule here :-) I was nervous about the psych eval and with good reason. I had a nervous break up seven months ago and am now waiting on pins and needles to find out where or not I will be booted out of my program. I wanted to be be as honest as possible but part of regrets that choice not that I would change it. If it is meant to happen it will for me and for you. Hang in there everything will turn out the way it is supposed to. ;-)
