Why is it the minute they tell you, you can't eat anything is precisely the minute you want to eat everything. My test is at 1:00 pm tomorrow and I'm off foods as of midnight tonight. The test isn't over till 4pm tomorrow afternoon, now how is this suppose to work? I'm going to be stressed from hunger by the time I get there, lmbo.

Well now my question, I'm just wondering if i should just let them shoot something in me to test my heart or actually get on the treadmill and show them how completely out of breathe I'm going to be when they are done. I've been doing okay on the elliptical until yesterday which didn't go so well, so if anyone had this test, what did you do, or was the choice left up to you?

I could wear my cape with the big "S" on the back for and walk it out, but who am I fooling if could walk or do the treadmill without it stressing my heart, would I really need this surgery? Well i'll see what tomorrow will bring i might just surprise myself.

Well enough rambling time to hit the sack so I can at least be rested and give it a fair shot.

I had a cardia stress test on the treadmill. It REALLY got my heart pumping like it hasn't pumped in years. I was a little alarmed, but the results were good.

I had the heart stress test... but didn't walk the treadmill. My surgeon, because of my ankle and knee issues, set it up for the injection of stuff to stress my heart.

I was there for about 3 to 4 hrs... But the test and 'pictures' they took was no big deal. I didn't like how the stuff they gave me made me feel, but it went away quick.

farmgirl, If you don't mind me asking how long did they have you walking on the treadmill and for Becca did you need to be accompanied because of the meds because i will be going alone.

no, not at all... It wore off pretty quick. I did have a bit of a headache afterwards, but they said to drink caffeine and the headache would go away. They offered me coffee and diet soda. I took the diet soda. Oh, and they also gave me snacks! :) I didn't have to go the entire time without food... Cheese and crackers or PB and crackers, and some juice. Within a couple hours, the headache was gone completely.

That is a long time to get without food! Try to keep busy to keep your mind off food. Some of the preop testing we have to do is rough, but in the end it will be so worth it. Good luck today! :)

I just read the paper that they gave me with the referral I can have a light breakfast before nine o'clock because my appointment is this afternoon at 1:00 pm, thank God!!!

I woke up in pain this morning and feeling a little anxious about the test - so not a good way to start the morning, but i am sure i will be fine. Thanks ladies for your input.
