i'm more than 2.5 years PO, and I also find it easier to eat cheese and nuts than I do chicken. Beef is supposed to be difficult, but I find it easier than chicken. Scrambled eggs are hard for me. I can get one down, but I'll be full for al long time. That may be a good thing, I don't know. Your body is definitely different after GBS, and it pays to learn what works for you, personally, and don't try to fit yourself into someone else's mold.

Well at least I don't feel so abnormal. lol I just wish I could sit down and eat a meal with the kids again, but eating cheese sticks and nuts is not the way I want to teach my kids to eat. :)

I'm 5 months post op, down 68 lbs since surg and I have the
exact same issue as you are. Its weird,but i guess i'm ok with
existing on yogurt, cheese, beans, etc. The meats just don't
work out 100% for me.

eggs are hard for me to do and the protien bars will make me sick real often. I think we all have certain things that just don't work well for us. I wonder sometimes why a certain food will be fine one time and get you the next?

Oh thankyou,I have so many issues with meat, I made hamburger in tomatoe and it went down great for two meals, now I can barely choke it down, all other meat tends to want to come back up. I keep forcing myself to try to get protein in from meat to where I don't want to eat anything. Will now back off and stick with my dairy and cheese for a while and not feel like I am doing everything wrong. I have so many doubts about what I eat and the scale has only gone down a couple pounds in the last few weeks, so frustrating when I know I am doing the program.

I am only 6 weeks PO, but I can't eat eggs at all. I haven't tried steak or chicken yet. I've been sticking to fish (which goes down easy as long as it's not dry) beans, and some dairy, but not a lot. I'm a little apprehensive yet to try to many meats yet, although I should be getting to the point of being able to eat them. I just know I hate getting sick and will do anything to avoid it. So, right now I'm happy with what little I do eat. =)

I have to admit, I haven't had a problem with chicken or really good cuts of tender, moist, beef. I usually use something to moisten the meat like sour cream, guacamole, mao, and salad dressing. Hamburger is almost always a no-go. I can usually only eat about 4-5 small bites of a good steak. However, I don't swallow any bits of meat that don't chew to a liquid and that sometimes means spitting out gristle or bits that only chew into a wad. The pre-cooked, shredded chicken, shredded beef and pot roasts from the grocery store are usually moist and tender and go down easily.

Eggs make me sick (although I was fine with them for the first year) and I throw up on fish.

My program let me eat "all foods as tolerated" at 4 months. That was also about the time things stayed down better. Hang in there!!

golden....different things are different for different peeps..i couldn't eat chicken for many years...you time will come when you will be able to eat anything you want...trust me...been there...do that
