Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
And congrats on the new low! You're gonna make ONEDERLAND before you know it! Wow!! Now I'm jealous! :)
I told him I've heard thru my WLS family, that things that they ate before, or protein shakes they've tried BEFORE surgery...made them sick or didn't sit well AFTER surgery.
He said that's normal, and to just try some out now, and then see if I can stomach them later. He mentioned sometimes they just won't taste as good as they do now, and sometimes they do. Just a trial and error type of thing.
I feel great about the upcoming sugery, lost 2 more pounds pre-op, and he said we are looking at August for my surgery!!! Yeah!! Now an actual month to look forward to!
My last appointment before surgery, and to review my checklist, and their records of the Dr's sending everything in, is August 8th ,so if insurance takes the max time with my insurance as they are used to, I should have surgery 2-4 weeks later.
SOOO...either late August, or early September is what i'm looking at , by my calculations!
I'm trying the eat sensibly, watch my portions, and slow down process now, and the hardest....don't drink 30 minutes before, and wait 30 minutes after.
Challenging, but worth it to me! I just have to pump up my willpower!!!
Hope all of you Sgt, and KathiRay, feel better soon!!
Hugs,
Betsy
