Hello all!! I am just curious if any of you have any tips or tricks for getting in the necessary amount of water post-op? I am still pre-op and while i'm able to drink my 64 oz throughout the day I often find myself feeling full off of waer. I am not guzzling and am just doing the sip, sip, sip....but still manage to feel full. Im just wondering how, if we are constantly sipping every second, do we possibly not get full with a tiny pouch.

You probably won't be able to get your 64 oz in right after surgery. My doc told me to aim for 32 oz initially and work up from there. Sip, sip when you can but your new pouch is a baby and you will need to treat it accordingly.

My family got me a slush maker
Plain or with Crystal Light breaks up the monotony
Also always have a bottle of water with me
I freeze a half of a bottle and when I leave the house I fill the rest with
water. Stays nice and cold will you sip and sip

With the RNY, we lose our pyloric valve and the water goes straight through (as long as there is no food in the pouch). Although I had to sip in the beginning, I can take regular drinks of water now with no problem. I've always been one to have a drink with me all the time, though. It used to be Diet Coke...now it's water.

im like you jj...i always have a still to this day ahve SOMETHING to drink with me whereever i go..so yeah it wasnt htat hard for me either:-)

I'm still pre op too, but I drink all day long like JJ and Sweden... Have for years. I drink, pee, drink pee... it's a never ending cycle! :)

I have two containers I use, one is 20 oz the other is 24... I refill them most days like 6 times. Some days more than this!

I drink a lot of water all day as well. However i'm not sure if my consistant sipping is going to be appropriate fo after surgery. would you say you take a sip every few seconds, minutes, or hours?

I'm a month out and sip all day long, it isn't as hard as it seems, but in the beginning be sure to take LITTLE sips...I made the mistake of taking a gulp once 2 weeks out....ouch!! I can take pretty normal sips now, and I always have a bottle with me around the house and 1 or 2 in my purse if I go out. Recovery will go much smoother if you are well hydrated :)

I don't think there are many of you with my problem, I can't use artifical sweeteners...I just found Crystal Light PURE, it has Truvia, and it doesn't give me headaches...YEA! I love water, but I have trouble getting it all in every day.
