My name is Amy. I have made a few posts on here but I havent shared my story with you all. After years of health problems and failed attempts to loose weight, I decided to have the gastric bypass surgery. My surgery was January 2nd 2013. The surgery went well and I was sent home. After I went home, I couldnt keep anything down and was in tons of pain. My family and I both thought I was either eating too fast or too much. I was vomiting and having bowel issue so severely that I was taken to the outpatient infusion center and tried to get rehydrated. Nothing worked so I was readmitted to the hospital. I was in so much pain that I couldnt lay down in the hospital bed. I still couldnt keep anything down and tried to tell the doctors how much pain I was in. One doctor even told me he didnt believe me, I was sent home a few days later. The next night I fell in the middle of the night and heard a strange popping noise and then was in the most pain I have ever felt. I called 911 and was taken to the hospital. After xrays, it turns out my bowel had obstructed and perforated, leaking toxins into my abdomen. I had emergency surgery and ended up in the icu for a week. After that I was in the hospital for 3 more weeks and rehab for 2 weeks. Why do I share all this? Because I am so thankful to be alive and finally beginning my weight loss journey. I am finally able to go back to work, start to eat things and just now starting to excersize on my new treadmill. I am grateful to be down 75 pounds and beginning to enjoy life. I want to connect with others that have gone through or are going through this journey. Thanks for taking the time to read my story,
