Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. I just wanted to pop in and let u all know that I am doing well, getting my liquids in as best as I can - I'm up to 3 4oz cups per hour - they wanted me at 4 by now but i can't and was told not to force it that it will happen. I don't have much pain in the way of gas, just some discomfort at the incision sites and that is to be expected. I am doing some walking around the house and i went out and walked the length of my hall way today which went okay. I am doing better than anticipated but I keep reminding myself, girlfriend you just had major surgery, slow your roll.
I have my first post op appointment with the surgeon on Monday, April 15th only because she released me only after one day of hospitalization. I have not started my post op liquid diet and can't till after i see her on Monday, but I am good. I have eaten a little jello and sucked on an ice pop. Everything in moderation right now.
The first night home i could not sleep in my bed so i slept propped up on the couch with my feet up on the ottoman but i did get to relax and sleep in my bed last night and part of the day today, to God be the Glory cause it felt so good. I've only had to do pain meds light to moderate since the pain is not overwhelming.
Well those are all my updates for now - be blessed.
