Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
It's been different foods or drinks. Mostly it happens when I am with my mom and sister. There is always so much food. I will say I've never sat down with a plan to eat off plan. Perhaps it was the first glass of wine I tried or a greasy burger.
The only thing that ever made me vomit was the burger. Most of the time I have a belly ache or if it's sugar I'll get very tired.
The pouch still works well in that I never eat as much as I used to. But just a few bites of the wrong food puts me in my place.
I look at my life now in terms of a normal weight person. Everyone has cake on their b day and so do I. Everyone bakes cookies with their kids and so do I. I am thankful that my pouch helps me remember on those occasions when I forget.
I have on occaision eaten too much too. Like at our favorite Mexican place and again it made me very sick.
So, I punish myself for my cheating!
I'm only 11.5 weeks out, but I have to fight with myself a lot of the time not to revert back to my old fat habits! So far, I'm winning!!!
I don't get sick. So I don't have that as a crutch. I have to discipline myself.
