Ok, I am a little frustrated so let me just try to calm down first....................................ok here goes. So I went to my PCP to get my clearance from him and of course there was a problem. He couldn't clear me without seeing all my test results. So I call the hospital I am having the surgery at and of course no one is there but the receptionist because it is after 5:00pm. She was very helpful though and told the doctor that in the morning she will let them know that they have to fax my results over to him.
Not that I don't trust her but I wrote out everything that has to be done and as soon as I get to work in the morning I am faxing it over myself, I know you guys do not blame me right? So, as of now the surgery is still*HOPEFULLY* on for the 5th. My pcp saw me getting upset and was like no stay positive. As soon as they fax him the paperwork he will fax them the clearance. So I am keeping my fingers crossed for that. But I am sure that shouldn't be a problem. I just wished the hospital had let me know the procedure because I thought I was going to get the clearance today.
Next who else is tired of going to appts after appts. I have went to so many appts from May to now that I don't know what to do and am honestly just worn out and tired. The only high light of it all is that I did loss 8 pounds on my pre-op so far. Thanks for letting me vent, sorry this was a long one.

Yes, I am tired of all the appointments, mine are an hour away, even 4 1/2 months Po, I still have a number of appointments. My big frustration is getting all the lab work to all three doctors that want to see it, I have the lab send it, but they all tell me to bring it with me, just in case they don't have it. My one doctor's office sent me a copy, then told me to bring it, in case they couldn't find it. I have support group tonight, then go right back for an appointment at 7:30am...4 hours driving and $14.00 in parking, just because the doctor doesn't see patients on Tuesday, and Support group is on Tuesday! OK, I have vented. IT IS STILL ALL WORTH IT!!!
BTW - I love your posts. They always make me smile, and sometimes, even LOL!
I have complete copies of all my records for the last 10 years i have originals in notebook and then i scan them all to a flash drive so i have them with me all the time, mainly due to my health issues with my lungs.
It will all come together and then you will be on a ride of your life.
As for the appointments i do understand to get to my surgeons if i am lucky and the traffic is good i can get there in an hour if not it can take me up to 2 hours one way. My nutritionist and fitness coach are way down there as well.
But like someone else said year down the road you will forget all about this. Keep on keeping on and you will be fine.
Yes, all the appointments get frustrating. Yes, it is beyond annoying when you feel like people aren't giving you correct info so you can avoid the detours. Yes, it is TOTALLY worth it!!!

As for your clearance, you are your best medical advocate. Have you ever heard "The squeeky wheel gets the oil"? You need to be the squeeky wheel. Fax and wait a little while and then call them to make sure they recieved the fax then make sure your doctor faxes your clearance letter to you, and your surgeon/hospital. it ssounds like you PCP is on your side and will make sure your taken care of you but with the holiday on Monday you should keep on top of this.

I work in Brooklyn NY and all my appts were 2 hrs away in Middletown NY. One good thing about all the appointments was that I knew I was in tip top shape. No stone was left un turned. Cho..where r u having the surgery?
Every specialist I went to and every test I had I made sure that they sent the same info to my PCP as they did to my surgeon. So when I seen my PCP for my final clearance I guess I will find out if they had been sending everything like I asked them too. I don't think I will have a problem with my PCP regardless, he was very for me having the surgery and he knows my surgeon so I am sure he will ok me without an problem.
