I tried scallops today as I was moved to soft foods. Ate slow, so I thought, small bites, so I thought. Was going down okay didnt even finish the whole scallop THEN felt something in my chest. Lots f saliva and threw up. It's been 2.5 hours and I still can't drink and pain is gone but still feel lots is saliva and that I could get sick again but nothing's there.

How long will I feel this way? What do I do?

I haven't tried fish yet, but from everything i have read on heat this is what they call the foamies. Fish is hard to digest from reading although you would think it would not be. That pain i would say was like a ummm NOOOOOOOOOOO not ready for that. My dietician suggests that stand with arms above head when get that full feeling.

I will be awaiting other responses to see what they say. Hang in there.

It took 3.5 hours and throwing up everything possible to finally feel better. Just had a SF popscicle to soothe things. Awful!

Yep, that was the foamies. Could be you ate too fast, didn't chew enough, or you pouch just hates that particular food (I can't eat fish anymore). My program said to go back to liquids or soft foods for 24 hours after throwing up.

Hang in there!! It gets better!

Wait a week and then try the offending food again this time only one(scallop) and being very conscious of chewing throughly and eating very slowly. If the foamies happen again your pouch does not like it. d
