With the RNY I need to be on B12 for the rest of my life per my surgeon. I am 3 months and I just started them this last weekend per my nurse. You can get a prescription for the shot once a month or there are sublingual tabs. I chose the sublingual to put under the tongue. That is where it most absorbed into the body. I get the 90 day from Opurity http://www.opurity.com/store/multivitamin/no-ingredients-from-china/vitamin-b-12-plus-folic-acid.html it is 19.95 but again it is a 3 month supply. You can also go to CVS or Walgreens and get their band as well.

I take them 500 mg sublingual - got mine at CVS, they had a two for one sale.

I do the shot once a month and it is one of the most important thing to take! Talk to your dr about it! Good luck!

I do 1000 mgs in a sub lingual pill. Sublingual is important since our pouches cannot absorb it well. I was really dragging but had so much more energy when I started taking it.

sublingual B12 is essential from what my surgeon said. It was explained to me this way: The part of your intestine that was by-passed (this only applies to bypasses) is where B12 would be absorbed. Since it was bypassed, it will no longer ever be absorbed from food or swallowed vitamins. That is why it must be taken sublingually. B12 is very important. If you did not have a bypass then you may not need it.

I get the shot each month and my insurance pays for it.

I take whatever brand sublingual 2500 mg a day. The most recent was at Kroger, buy one get one!

I do a Barriatric Advantage sublingual B12 3 times a week per my surgeon's protocol. Yes, you need to supplement B12. A lack of it can cause permanent nerve damage. Not something to mess with!!

My program also does not suggest it, but I bought some anyway and take it when I think of it. It's Nature's Bounty Sublingual B-12 500 mcg. I got it buy one get one free at CVS (I think).

I buy it at walgreens... its very cheap! I got a deal on buy one get one half price and am still on the first bottle at 6 months post op. My NUT said its perfect! :)

My daughter works at Rite Aid and I get her employee discount so I will check out what they have. No need to pay so much for the fancy chewy B12's from GNC!

I don't know why my surgeon's practice doesn't have the B12 on the list of required supplements. I will ask when I do my next appointment with my NUT or at next months support group meeting and see what they say.

I take a Walmart gummy B12, 2 a day and so far so good.

I take Celebrate B-50 Complex Bariatric Supplements . It has all the B's in it including B12.
