I haven't been on had a lot happen around here. I had a bit of an accident about three weeks ago and have been recouping from that. The first step off of a semi is a big one. Needless to say I mis-stepped and fell out of the truck. Landed hard on my butt. Ended up with two sprained ankles, a sprained wrist, a broken thumb, a cracked tail bone, and severe whiplash like injury throughout my back and up into my neck. Needless to say moving has been horrible. I have cried a lot with the pain and even at times missed my extra layers of fat that I had before the surgery and the fall. But I have officially been taken off all diabetes medications. Before the summer road trip my A1C was 8.7 and just after the summer road trip it was 6.2. Woohoo. I still have 90-100 pounds to lose and will be at my one year anniversary for the surgery on the 17th of this month. I'm a little sad that I have only lost about 170 pounds since surgery and think it is due to being unable to exercise that much with the arthritis in the hip and back. But I will keep doing what I can and working at it. I'm at a weight that I haven't been for over 20 years, I'm off all my medications and I feel better than before. Even if I didn't lose another pound (which I know I will lose more) I would be happy.
