Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
I've heard of the weight gain that gets away from us GB people. This is why I weigh myself everyday. I allow myself a 3-5 lb window.
Can you get in touch with your surgeons office and/or a nutritionist to help you get back on track.
Shelley :o)
Drinking all my water is definitely important, and a daily private weigh in to help keep myself accountable, and motivated.I thought after 4 years I was "safe" but I discovered it will be something I will always have to work at for life. Surgery is not a quick fix. Keep working at it.
You can do it!! Keep coming here and letting us know how you're doing.
Many people have success getting back on track and cleaning up from carbs...
If you learn by reading, I recommend anything by Geneen Roth. Her book "Breaking Free from Emotional Eating" was a game-changer for me. If you learn from talking things through, I recommend sticking around here or contacting your surgeon's office to see if they recommend any counselors.
Good for you to recognize you've been heading down the wrong path and for having the courage to turn things around.
