Some days I feel more nibbly too, just part of being me.
It is perfectly normal for your tummy to make noise. Some days are louder than others and some days I don't hear much at all.
I use Benefiber or Miralax because I wasn't having regular bowel movements, but after using one of those, everything is much better.
My stomach makes crazy noises, hopefully it's normal.

Your stomachs job is to use water, hydrochloric acid and pepsin, an enzyme that breaks down proteins, to digest your food, which is then passed through the duodenum and into your intestines.
Gurgling noises are normal functioning noises. Theglands that line your stomach go into action every three to four hours whether you eat anything or not. SMELLING FOOD, SEEING IMAGES OF IT OR EVEN JUST THINKING OF can start the release of gastric juices. The movement of your stomach walls and the juices being excreted creates growling and gurgling noises.
So when you are obsessively thinking about or drooling over something that sounds good you are actually activating the hunger signals. Hence it being called head hunger!
Hunger is activated by signals sent from your digestive system to your hypothalamus. Then these signals release hormones that stimulate the secretion of gastric juices and get the muscles in your stomach walls moving. This can make your stomach gurgle.
Keep getting your liquids and protein in (think of it as your job, rather than relying on hunger signals to eat). Whether you nibble (on protein) or have a meal (of protein) just get in what you need and you'll be fine. Do you use some kind of tracker, like myfitnesspal.com? It really helps me because I was not a planner before my surgery, I would just eat whatever, whenever. Now I plan things out every day.
