I everyone I am 2 day in my pre op diet. I go in for surgery the 23rd. I am struggling with being on nothing but liquids as I did not get a chance to get ready for it. I was going to have it done Nov. 19 but got the call yesterday morning as I was sitting down with a fresh steaming cup of coffee that it had been moved to Oct. 23.
My question is will this get any easier and will on yogurt set me off track?

the first 3 days are difficult, I think what happens is your stomach and brain are NOT on the same page...therefore they fight with one another...lol, it happened to me too...I did hang in there and by day 4-5 it didnt matter much anymore...I knew this was something I had to do, and the amount of weight you lose during the liquid stage is incredible!! my pre-op weight loss was 38 pounds, 9 of them was from the 2 week liquid stage!! thats huge...whats a lil harder is the 3 day clear liquids right before surgery...broth, water, crystal light, jello...but it is so important because when they fill you with the gas for the surgery your stomach must be empty or whatever you ate can regurgitate and cause serious problems during the surgery....good luck!! it will all be fine :)

being on this liquid diet for 2 weeks now gave me a startling revelation, which i hope you find. it made me realize that i really don't need all that food i indulged myself in over the years, no matter how much i want it, i just don't need it to live.

I have found out that I feel better on the liquid diet I have more energy. I also found that if I do not get all my fluids in I get headaches. Also sugar free popsicles are my life saver when my kids have icecream

In the scope of things, this isn't a biggy. Think of it this way . . . this will be a memory in just a couple of weeks as will the pounds you lose! You can do this!
