More than 9 months after surgery I had an object stuck for the 1st time. I eat apples daily but today I began having very bad pain. Not like getting sick but just plain pain in the pouch.
I called my team and they told me to start with chewing Papaya Enzyme tablets every 2 hours. I just did and I don't think it hurts as much.
Don't mess around if you have pain, call your doctor right away.
She told me she thought I had a piece of apple peel stuck.

Good advice! I'm almost three years PO, and I sometimes have to remind myself to chew things really, really well. That's a requirement that never goes away. :)

Sarg, Hope you're feeling better. I was told to get the papaya enzyme chews also, and GNC has them in 3 different size bottles.

I got mine at wal mart. The wife went and got it I didn't feel like it. It was cheap. Theres a lot in the bottle it's probably a life time supply!
They worked real well. The doctor told me to take 4 every 2 hours untill I had taken a total of 12. The first dose fixed my problem. Within an hour the pain was gone and I was ready to go!

Sorry this happened to you but thank you so much for sharing your experience and for introducing us to papaya enzyme...I have never, in over 12 years, heard of that. I still, on occasion, have trouble with chicken no matter how well I chew. I plan to buy some to keep on hand.
