Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
Its a steep learning curve post-op to learn to eat again. Your pouch is still healing! Eat slowly, chew everything until its mushy in your mouth. Put your fork/spoon down between every bite. Think about whether you need the next bite before shoveling it in. Give yourself 20 to 30 minutes to eat your small meals. Stop eating at the end of that time.
And, if all else fails, and you are still having issues keeping food down and are getting the foamies, have your surgeon do a scope to rule out a stricture or other problem!
