Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. Just remember that the normal you isn't all about food. The old you was all about food. You miss that emotion of feeling good when you ate it... I know how you feel. BUT, the time of us being who we are solely revolving around food is OVER....Darling, I'm with you. We are going to be able to do so much more soon, and missing a few butter soaked popcorn kernals is going to just be something to laugh at in a few months! Do me a favor....think about how many times you ate then went to the movies and bought popcorn anyway....I use to buy popcorn and mm's everytime I went to the movies hungry or not. We are giving ourselves and our kids that wonderful emotional feeling of comfort and joy with food....WE ARE NOT GOING TO DO IT ANYMORE....FOR US AND OUR KIDS.....love ya and Stay strong,
krissy
I too had great difficulty going to the movies as my favourite snack food is POPCORN!!!! I absolutely love it - the smell, the taste and the texture.
I've been to 4 or 5 movies since my surgery and the first one was HELL! It gets easier. I always bring a drink - water or crystal light.
Hang in there, the drink/no drink/drink thing gets easier too.
I'm on this rollercoaster too - you aren't alone.
Cheers,
D'Arcy
You're still in the dark days! I had my surgery on July 21, am down 80 lbs and able to eat all kinds of things.....popcorn inlcuded! Give yourself time. It gets better when you can eat solid food again! I promise!
